ESCARDOL24

From Ordic Encyclopedia

ESCARDOL24 is a Yamataian reality television talent competition franchise, based around the formation of a Ya-pop idol group. 99 contestants from across Escar compete to make it to the final 24, who are formed into the A and B teams of an idol group. A large amount of audience participation is involved to make decisions, and public voting via social media and such are important parts of the show. ESCARDOL24 is part of the multinational Ya-pop idol franchise, IDOL24 Group.

The franchise began in 2012 as YAMATAIDOL24, limited to Yamatai and a few Chiseian participants, which created the group Sotebo24. It has since expanded to other Escaric markets and holds auditions throughout Escar for suitable candidates. While ESCARDOL24 remains the main show, localised versions have also been created in Chisei, Yeongseon, Chanha, and Dai Hoa, creating more local idol groups which are part of the IDOL24 franchise. The franchise has attracted a wide following in the world; more than 10 million people cast votes during the finale of Season 2 in 2017.
