Fujishima Province is a Yamataian province encompassing Fujishima Island, located in the Sea of Yashima. Administratively, Fujishima is considered a part of Hasukuni. Fujishima has an area of 746.502 km² and a population of 216,981 people as of December 2018.

Fujishima City is the capital and largest city of Fujishima Province. Kudō and Susaki are the only other cities on the island.

History

Fujishima used to be a separate kingdom, and occasionally was part of Shojin. Later on it was taken over by the Yamataians in the 18th century as it was important part of the plan to dominate the whole Yashiman Sea

Geography

Fujishima Island is a volcanic island in the Sea of Yashima, with an area of 746.502 km². Its highest elevation is the peak of Mt. Takohara at 2252.3 metres.

There are three city-level settlements on Fujishima, Fujishima City, Kudō, and Susaki. There are also 15 towns and 2 villages across the island.

Fujishima is well-known for its octopus industry, and various types of octopus dishes are considered local delicacies.

There are two National Roads on Fujishima, 17-01 and 17-02. NR 17-01 follows the eastern coastline and links Kudō City with Fujishima City, while NR 17-02 heads southwest from Fujishima City and ends at Susaki.

The train lines on Fujishima are operated by the Fujishima Railway Corporation. There are two train lines on the island, the Fujishima City Monorail, and the Fujishima Coastal Line between Kudō and Susaki. The Fujishima Coastal Line is the only train line in Yamatai that still utilises Type-36 Ro Class steam locomotives on a regular basis.

Ferries serving Fujishima operate regularly, with the most busy being the Fujishima Ferry Service Corporation-operated services that sail four times a day from Kishitani, Musashi, and six times a day from Wangan, Satsuma. Ferries to Shojin also operate twice a week from Fujishima.

There is a domestic airport on Fujishima, Fujishima Airport, which is located outside of Susaki. Regular domestic flights operate from this airport, as well as regional international flights to Chisei and Shojin.
