The Imperial Military ( ) is the unified armed forces of the New Greater Empire, primarily comprising of the Imperial Army and Imperial Navy. The Imperial military is the largest and most powerful military force within the Human Sphere, with large amounts of troops and equipment as well as advanced technology. As the Empire is a stratocracy, the Imperial military also controls the Imperial government, with the Imperial Grand Marshal serving as both the head of government and commander-in-chief of the military forces.
Two High Council-level ministries, the Ministry of the Army and the Ministry of the Navy, represent their respective branches on the Imperial High Council.
History
The Imperial military was established on 15 Shigatsu 87, the day the Old Empire was formed by the First Emperor Yoshiro from the polity that had been known as the Eastern Federation. Under the direct command of First Emperor Yoshiro, the old Federation Army and Starfleet forces were renamed and reorganised into the new Imperial military, which underwent heavy reforms to rectify the endemic structural problems in the old Federation Military.
