Jans Nordvich (born 18 April 1967) is a Meriadni politician who has been the Prime Minister of Meriad since 2012, and leader of the Social Democrats since 2010. He succeeded Prime Minister Franzan Istlaskotr, who had been in office for eight years.
Prior to becoming Prime Minister, Nordvich had worked as a public defense lawyer for the City of Duvnafjördur, Meriad, and then worked at the law firm Hjersteg Civil Law until his election to the Hall of Jarls in 2003 as a representative of Duvnafjördur. As a Jarl, Nordvich worked extensively as a part of the multi-party drafting body dedicated to creating legislation for the governing coalition. He was reelected to his Hall of Jarls seat in 2006 and 2009, and was elected the leader of the Social Democrats in 2010. He was reelected to the Hall in 2012, and became the Prime Minister after former Labour Party leader and Prime Minister Franzan Islaskotr failed to win reelection in his constituency.
