Yashima-class
Super-Heavy Carrier
19 kilometres long, the Yashima-class ships are immense warships better described as mobile battlestations. In addition to being carriers, they also carry a large amount of offensive armament, and the carrier designation was partially to push them through government funding. Only six Yashima-class supercarriers exist, these being the Yashima, Shin Yashima, Chisei, Yamatai, Hinomoto and Shirakawa.
Quite possibly the second-most numerous warship in the Empire barring fighters and the Atakebune-class. Similarly, the two classes are multipurposed to oblivion and run a massive gamut of roles.
Built for law enforcement, the Kariudo-class series are fast enough to catch up with pirate vessels, well-armed enough to quickly take down enemies, and heavily armoured to withstand more powerful threats. They are also a bane of fighters, equipped with a multitude of light weapons. A spacious cargo hold enables them to take on a role as armed transports as well.
The Oyashio-class series was designed as the ultimate escort vessel. It is equipped with a potent sensor package and a mean anti-fighter/light warship weapons loadout for its small size, including a ventral full-sized 240mm railgun, unprecedented for a vessel of this size.
The most numerous warship in the Empire, the Atakebune has been serving illustriously for over two centuries. Numerous civilians also use the sturdy, spacious vessel as a cargo hauler, and its easy adaptability means dozens of variants exist for specialised missions.
Kabekage-class
Stealth corvette
The Kabekage-class stealth corvette is named for the notorious Imperial border defence system, the Kabekage Web, and is employed widely along this front as a quiet, quick-reaction unit to take down anything detected by the vast sensor web. It is also increasingly used in standard line formations as well as special-purpose squadrons.
Developed from the Atakebune-class, the Yama Uba-class support frigate is intended to take the role of long-range communications and sensors for smaller formations or formations unable to support larger Yuki Onna-class or Nurikabe-class support warships.
